blurb started in 2008 as an artists run group crit session and after the first couple of sessions the idea quickly developed into an online network and soon to be developed magazine also.
blurb was started by Staffordshire artist Mark Brereton because of the isolation artists find themselves in when working alone or on freelance projects. The blurb network, artist sessions and magazine is dedicated to all and any Staffordshire based artists and creatives.

The network is aimed towards, collaborating, networking, sharing or discussing your issues as a modern day artist/creative living and working in Staffordshire.

Please join up, set up your profile and support the creative talents within the midlands.

I've had a varied career to date, mostly involved with creative imaging for Art Direction, Advertising, Branding and Photography. After leaving Stoke in 1996 i worked in different art & design studios around Brighton and London. Upon returning to Stoke i now work for international clients from a shared artists studio based in Burslem. I have also recently taken up a role as Creative Director & Partner for the Peter Silverman Photography Agency and work with a select group of international photographers.

Thanks Mark. I think I missed you at tal09 but am very impressed by all you are doing. I have set up a ning group for the arts in Leek - my own agenda is the on-going struggle for a theatre/arts centre, but am hoping people will make it their own. leekartspace.ning.com. Would love your feedback!

Hi Mark
It was lovely to meet you yesterday and see your art under construction, I would be really interested to see the time lapsed photography stuff we talk of. This is my first experience of Blurb and I'm impressed by the site and the atmosphere last night was great. You need more space mate! a victim of your own success i think.
Regards
Tania :)
