Hi, good to hear you got an allotment! saw Alan yesterday evening and he mentioned it...It's one on Spode Street I hear- I've always loved those ones they always look so sweet and tucked away. I bet you'll have fun doing it up/sorting it out! hard work at first but feels so good when you start to get it how you want it. It's hard work in this weather tho but get nicce and tanned doing it (or burned) haha. Will stroll down next time I'm around and see if you're there. Speak to you soon x
hi Vicki
photo's are looking good, really like the writing on the back; what does it say?
when is your final show? hope you're not too stressed, it will all be worth it in the end. x ju
Hi Vicky,
My partner has just been involved in the ward stories 2, a series of short films on health issues, mental health and awareness been one of the topics. The cultural sisters and junction 15 were two of the groups taking part perhaps if you contact them they could give you information on these topics. if i can find out anymore info i'll let you know,
Sorry not at moment, my job went after 15 years two years ago and I am slowly getting things back together. I've suffered a bit with depression, but have worked a lot with mental health groups. One avenue may be to contact The Observatory in Hanley they are linked with the American in Waterloo Road, as they have open groups for art and it may be a good place to volunteer. Most of the work I have done is in writing, but my background was in fine art. What are you looking for? What year are you in, because if you are in final year may just be too much, but the groups meet all through the summer.
For volunteering & training courses within mental health you could try www.changes.org.uk (head office Hanley). They also have a Young Persons project who work with kids from 13 upwards, so you may be able to combine your art skills as well.
Hi Vicki, Apologies, I got you confused with Vicki from UCB. Have you contacted B Arts, Creative Partnerships, Arts Council England (West Midlands), Paul Bailey at Stoke-on-Trent City Council (01782 232548), Creative Arts North Staffs, The Cultural Sisters or Letting in the Light?
hi vikki what experiences. we are trying to do lots of art related stuff on our network. Check it out maybe there might be something interesting there or one of our menbers might have interesing ideas.
Hope all is well with you. Glad to see you have found your way onto Blurb. As I recall, UCB commission many local freelance artists and designers on a regular basis, which I believe should be commended. I look forward to working with you once again.
